Joshua and Janelle live in Alberta. They decided to take a romantic getaway to Montreal since Janelle had never visited the city before. Before their trip, Joshua reached out to me with something special in mind—he wanted to propose to Janelle at the Old Port of Montreal, near the Clock Tower. At this point, Janelle thought it was just a simple couple’s photoshoot.
After several emails, we planned an itinerary that let them explore iconic spots in Old Montreal while secretly preparing for the big moment.
We met on a misty, cool Sunday morning. Before starting the session, I took some time to get to know them better. I asked a few questions to ensure the session went smoothly. I always like to know what clients prefer—whether they want guidance with poses or prefer spontaneous, candid shots. It’s usually a mix of both. My main goal is to help them feel comfortable so they can relax and enjoy the experience.
Joshua and Janelle were a dream couple. They were kind, warm-hearted, and had a great sense of humour. Above all, they radiated love for each other.
After exploring a few spots in Old Montreal, we arrived at the Clock Tower. Joshua and I had planned a special pose. They stood back-to-back, giving Joshua the perfect chance to take out the ring without Janelle noticing. It was a beautiful moment. I felt so honored to capture their love during such a meaningful event.
Here are some images of their wonderful surprise proposal.
